Skypebble Start-Up Procedure and Recommended Pool Water Treatment Guide
|
Sodium Bi-Carbonate rinse. (To be carried out immediately after Acid Wash and prior to filling pool with water)
Note : Use 3 kg’s of sodium bi-carbonate per 10,000 Ltrs of pool water, i.e. 15 kg’s of sodium bi-carbonate per 50,000 Ltrs of pool water.
1. Ensure all acid wash solution is pumped out of the pool & pool is washed down with clean water.
2. Commence filling pool from deep end.
3. When pool has approximately 200mm of water covering the main drain, add the required amount of sodium bi-carbonate, (as per above mix ratio) to this water and mix well.
4. Using this solution, in a watering can, pour around pool walls and floor ensuring all Skypebble interior is covered.
5. Do not wash finished surface after rinse, leave rinse solution in pool.
6. Continue to fill pool from deep end, be sure not to turn hose off until filling is completed.
It is recommended to chemically balance your pool or spa once it has finished filling.
|
The recommended balance range is as follows, |
• pH 7.6 – 7.8
• Total Alkalinity of 200ppm.
• Total Hardness 150 – 200ppm.
• Salt – Do not add salt for 6 weeks, run pool on liquid chlorine for this time.
Note : If Acid is to be added, please use in small quantities and dilute in water and add to deep end. All pools and spas vary in size. The chemicals required to achieve the recommended balance range will vary.
The final and ongoing finish of the pool interior can depend on a number of variables in which Skypebble has no control and does not guarantee such as -:
1. Preparation of pool shell, prior to application of Skypebble.
2. Cement Used. ( Brand, Quality, Shelf Life, etc )
3. Yield ratio of cement to Skypebble and Skypebble liquid tint.
4. The use of pebble and coloured oxides other than Skypebble products. 5. Labour and Workmanship.
6. Final Acid Wash and Sodium Bi-Carbonate Rinse.
7. Additives Used, i.e. Plastisers etc
8. Source Water Used, i.e. Fill Water
9. Initial Water Balance.
10. On-going Water Balance and Care.

User Care Guide |
Congratulations on selecting Skypebble for your new swimming pool interior surface. Although this surface is extremely durable and resilient, it is still important to maintain the correct water balance to ensure the surface remains in excellent condition for many years to come.
Recommended Water Balance |
Total Alkalinity: 200 ppm.
p.H : 7.6 – 7.8
Total Hardness : 150 – 200 ppm
Salt : Do not add salt for the first 6 weeks;
use liquid chlorine for this time.
Note : It is important to chemically balance your pool and or spa once it has finished filling.
Please take this guide to your local Pool Shop or Service Agent together with your water sample for correct balancing to the above levels.
Handy Hints :
When adding the initial salt after 6 week curing period, cut open bags and pour contents into pool. Be sure to broom thoroughly all salt residues on the floor until all salt is fully dissolved and has disappeared.
p.H control using Hydrochloric Acid.
Hydrochloric Acid is used to lower the pool water p.H level.
Never add more than 500mls of Hydrochloric acid per day. Dilute acid by adding to a full 10ltr bucket of water prior to slowly adding to the deep end, avoiding contact with the pool interior. Always follow safety instructions on acid packaging.
